Most of us aren’t really sure what the term trauma means. It can mean many things: including physical trauma, as in a bodily injuries, and also many types of psychological/emotional trauma which can be described as injuries to the mind. Psychological/emotional trauma can include the psychological impact of a physical trauma, sexual assault, observing a frightening event, automobile accident, near death experience, bullying, racial discrimination, divorce, losing a home, and many other traumatic experiences.
In recent times the need for grief recovery and resolving related trauma seems to have grown steadily. To answer the demand for these service I have sought specialized training in both grief recovery and trauma focused therapies and narrowed the scope of practice to these specialties only.
